Lu Lu Tong, the name of traditional Chinese medicine, is the dry and mature
inflorescence of Liquidambar formosana Hance. They are harvested after maturing in
winter, removed from impurities, and dried. This product is polythalamic fruit, which
is composed of many small capsules and is spherical in shape with a diameter of 2-3cm.
There are total fruiting peduncles at the base. The surface is gray-brown or brown, with
many sharp and beak-shaped blunt spines, 0.5-1mm long, often broken, and the top of the
small capsule is cracked, showing honeycomb-shaped pores. They are lightweight, hard,
not easy to break open. The smell is slight, and the taste is light.
Liquidambaris Fructus has the functions of expelling wind and activating collaterals,
